A research Engineer position is available within the laboratory of Professor Yanick Crow at the Imagine Institute in Paris, France (http://www.institutimagine.org/fr/la-recherche/25-laboratoires-de-recherche/21-laboratory-of-neurogenetics-and-neuroinflammation.html).
We are interested in Mendelian disorders associated with an upregulation of type I interferon signalling, proceeding from clinical recognition, through gene identification, to cellular characterization of underlying pathology (see J Exp Med. 2017;214:1547-1555 and Nat Commun. 2017;8:2176 as examples). Currently, we are particularly focused on the development of treatments for these devastating conditions - based on an interruption / suppression of interferon-induced inflammation. The Imagine Institute represents a unique setting in which to pursue such studies, with ample opportunity for collaborations with national and international top-level clinicians and scientists.
We are looking for a motivated research engineer to join our team. We would like to hire someone who is reliable, diligent and willing to learn.
We will encourage the development of your research portfolio through involvement in different aspects of the life of the laboratory.
Previous experience in helping to run a laboratory, and evidence of a suitable degree of independence, is required.
The successful applicant will have a background in genetics and / or cell biology, with specific skills relating to all or several of the following techniques: serum, plasma and PBMC preparation, PCR, sequencing, RNA extraction, RT-PCR, qPCR and cell culture.
Knowledge of western blotting, cloning and site-directed mutagenesis would be desirable.
The applicants should ideally be conversant in both English and French.
